Term 3 - Week 9: Maori Language Week

It's been so much fun learning waiata and Te Reo with Whaea Wairahi. Our pronunciation of Te Reo words has definitely improved with Whaea's guidance.

Term 3 Week 8 - Tongan Language Week

Malo e lelei Whanau! What a fantastic end to a fabulous week! We've had Tasty lūpulu, chop suey and otai yesterday and graceful Tongan dancing by the girls today! We've really been spoilt this week!

Here's a video showing how to make your own otai. With summer around the corner, we'll have an abundance of fruit available.

Reminders for next week:

  • Just a reminder that this Wednesday 16 September, we are having a Wacky / Weird / Wig Wednesday! Your children are encouraged to go all out along with the staff and come to school in mufti sporting their choice of hairstyle.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          All this is to raise funds for the Cancer Society; so we'll be having a sausage sizzle and iceblocks combo ($3) on sale. Extra sausages/iceblocks can be ordered separately.                                                                                                                                                                                              Unfortunately, with current alert levels we cannot invite parents onsite.
  • Next week is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. Watch this space for updates!

Welcome back after lockdown 2.0!

It seems a little like deja vu, but we've just come out of another lockdown! Thank you to whanau who have sent their tamariki back to school. We are doing the best we can to keep tamariki safe. We have stringent cleaning and sanitising routines and while it is not mandatory for students to wear masks, they can do so if they wish. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. If you wish to come into school, that's fine just remember to download the 'NZ Tracer App' so that you can scan in.

Stay safe!
